1. Fritzel's European Jazz Pub
Bourbon Street mainstay since 1969 with nightly live jazz! A wonderful and lively place to hang.
2. The Spotted Cat Music Club
Weathered bar and intimate jazz venue hosting live acts.
3. The Carousel Bar & Lounge
This classic haunt at the Hotel Monteleone has a circular bar that revolves like a carousel!
4. Krazy Korner
Longtime bar, club and live music venue with jazz and blues bands plus a balcony. I danced the night away at this spot!
5. Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar
Dimly lit and one of the oldest bars around, serving since the 1700s. WARNING: HAUNTED! I gathered around the piano with other attendants and sang Elton John!
6. Arnaud's French 75
Tin-ceilinged "grande dame" of Creole dining since 1918, featuring seafood classics and a jazz brunch. Plus, a costume museum upstairs! The Germaine Cazenave Wells Mardi Gras Museum, named for successor and daughter of Count Arnaud who reportedly reigned as queen of over twenty-two Mardi Gras balls from 1937 to 1968, brings together more than two dozen lavish Mardi Gras costumes. The oldest costume in the exhibit, Germaine’s Empress gown, was worn by Lady Irma, The Queen of the Iris, in 1941.
7. Galatoire's
Fine-dining century-old institution serving French-Creole fare in upscale space (jackets required). The best meal I've ever had. Plus, occasional live music.

Classic New Orleans cuisine plus Korean BBQ dishes and ample cocktails nestled in the historic Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. Great conversations with attendees and the bartenders.
10. Bottom of The Cup Tea Room
Circa-1929 tea store and psychic shop with a quirky selection of tarot cards and other fortune-tellers. Get your fortune read here!
