Hot August Night

On August 24, 1972, Neil Diamond performed a sold out show at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre. The show was one of ten sold out concerts from that same month. Diamond went on to release a live double album of that very performance.

One of the biggest selling albums of all time in Australia, 'Hot August Night' spent twenty-nine weeks at number one (tying with Delta Goodrem as the fifth artist to hit that milestone). Critic Lester Bangs called the album "a fine presentation of the entire spectrum" with a "hymn-like feeling".

Diamond then released follow up albums 'Hot August Night II' in 1987, 'Hot August Night/NYC' in 2009, and finally 'Hot August Night III' in 2018, that's ultimately three sequel albums. Every track was written by Diamond*.

Favorite song on the album: Soolaimon/Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
